This pattern is written using US terms and is worked in continuous rounds, unless stated otherwise. If you use different hooks and yarn sizes, you may have to change safety eyes accordingly. Using the listed materials, the plushie will be around 6 cm tall. Due to your tension, you may have to change the position of the BBL stitches in order to align them.

Materials :

• 4.5 mm hook

• 8 mm safety eyes (Buy here)

• Stitch Marker

• Fiber fill (Buy here)

• Yarn needles

• Chenille yarn 100 gr./120 m. (Buy here)

Abbreviations:

• MR – Magic ring

• CH – Chain

• SLST – Slip stitch

• SC – Single Crochet

• INC – Increase

• DEC – Invisible Decrease

Wings :

To make the wings, make a chain of 2 chains, then, starting from the 2nd chain from the hook, make 1 single crochet down the chain and 1 slip stitch in the same stitch where you started.

(The 9th and the 20th stitches of round 8, in this case)

Pattern / Head to body

Start with head color.

Rnd 1. Make 6 sc into a MR (6)

Rnd 2. 6 inc (12)

Rnd 3. (1sc, inc) x6 (18)

Rnd 4. 1 sc, inc, (2sc, inc) x5, 1 sc (24)

Rnd 5 to 7. (3 rounds) 24 sc (24)

Change to body color.

Rnd 8. 9 sc, WING, 10 sc, WING, 5 sc (24)

Rnd 9. 24 sc (24)

  • Add 8mm safety eyes between rounds 6/7, 4 stitches apart.
  • Embroider the beak between the eyes along 4 stitches.

In the next round we are going to crochet the feet with BBL stitches of 3 half DC.

When you make the BBL stitches change the color in feet color (cc = change color)

Rnd 10. 11 sc, cc BBL, cc 4 sc, cc BBL, cc 7 sc (24)

Start filling the head with fiberfill and continue to fill as you go.

Rnd 11. (1sc, dec) x8 (16)

Rnd 12. 8 dec (8)

Fasten off leaving a long tail. With a yarn needle, insert the tail in the FLO of the 8 stitches left, then pull firlmy to close it.
